General & Booking
Q: What exactly am I renting from Heirloom Plume and Petal?
A: You are renting unique Estate Vessels (antique, vintage, or preloved containers) paired with luxury Faux Floral Arrangements (Estate Florals) for a specified period. The fee covers the rental of both the vessel and the arrangement as a complete piece.
Q: How do I book an item?
A: To secure a piece, we require a 50% non-refundable Booking Fee of the total rental price, along with a signed Rental Agreement Contract. The vessel is considered reserved only after these two items are received.
Q: Is there a minimum rental period?
A: Our standard rental period is 2 days (e.g., Friday collection/delivery, Sunday return/collection). Specific dates will be confirmed on your Booking Confirmation.
Q: I need to change my event date. What is the policy?
A: Date changes are subject to the availability of the specific antique Vessel you booked. If your item is available for the new date, a £50 date change fee applies. If the item is unavailable, the change is treated as a cancellation, and our cancellation policy (Clause 7.2 of the Contract) will apply.
Delivery, Collection, and Use
Q: Do you deliver and collect the items?
A: Yes, delivery and collection are part of our premium service. We will coordinate a specific window with you. A representative (aged 18+) must be present at both times to sign the Handover Agreement, confirming the items are received in satisfactory condition.
Q: What happens if I am not ready for collection at the scheduled time?
A: We require the item to be readily available and prepared (empty of water, if applicable) by the Collection Deadline. If we arrive and the items are unavailable, a £75 Failed Collection Fee will be charged. Furthermore, late return penalties (50% of the rental fee per 24 hours late) will apply until the piece is successfully retrieved.
Q: Can I put fresh flowers or water in the antique vessels?
A: Unless explicitly stated in the item's description, the antique vessels must not be filled with water or fresh materials. They are delivered with our Estate Faux Florals and must be protected from moisture to prevent damage.
Q: How do I care for the items during the rental period?
A: Treat the items with the highest degree of care. They must not be subjected to excessive heat, direct rain/water exposure, or harsh chemicals. They are your responsibility immediately upon handover until they are officially retrieved by our staff.
Security, Damage, and Penalties
Q: Why do you charge a Security Deposit?
A: A 20% refundable Security Deposit is held against potential damage, loss, theft, or penalties (like late return fees) incurred during the rental period. This is essential given the unique and often irreplaceable nature of the antique vessels.
Q: When will my Security Deposit be refunded?
A: The deposit is processed for refund after all Rental Items have been collected, returned, and successfully inspected by our team. We aim to refund the remaining balance within 7 business days of collection.
Q: What if I damage or lose an item?
A: You are financially liable for all costs associated with damage, loss, or theft, regardless of the cause. You will be charged the full replacement cost (not the rental fee). For unique pieces, this replacement cost is the fair market value determined by Heirloom Plume and Petal to acquire a comparable item, which often exceeds the item's original purchase price.
Q: What is the penalty for a late return?
A: A late penalty fee equivalent to 50% of the original total rental fee is charged for every 24-hour period (or part thereof) the items are overdue. If the item is overdue by 48 hours (2 full days), it is deemed permanently lost, and the full Replacement Cost is immediately charged.
